Self Myofacial Release Instruction

Self-Myofascial Release

Self-Myofascial Release (SMFR) is a muscle and soft tissue treatment used to release muscle tension. This is done by using various items such as a foam roller, tennis, golf, or lacrosse ball to apply pressure to tight muscles while moving the muscles through a range of motion. Think of SMFR as maintenance for your muscles to keep the in good condition so they can function properly.

You’re probably wondering….don’t chiropractors only treat the spine?

No! although chiropractors are known for treating the back and neck we can treat other areas of the body. From your big toe to your diet, we can help you with many conditions inside and out. One of my favorite areas to work with is shoulders for example. While we focus on joints and muscles, the bigger picture is how you move which has many factors from diet and exercise to how you sleep.
